Why You Need a Good Jewelry Box

Many people believe that jewelry boxes are just for decoration, or expressly for organization purposes, but they are actually for a lot more than that as well. They aid in protecting each of your different pieces and can even make them more secure in some instances as well. Do yourself a favor and properly protect those earrings, necklaces, rings and other pieces that you have in your home.

Protect the Pieces

The most important reason to pick up a good quality jewelry box is because it will help you keep all your jewelry in good shape. The many sections of a jewelry box keep different pieces from rubbing together with one another. Buying a good container to keep them in will ensure that you don’t suffer from scratching or other common issues that you would have to deal with using a single compartment container instead.

Boost Organization

A good box will also help you keep your different pieces in order so that you know where to find each of them. You can separate all your items and make sure they stay in good shape over time. Make sure that you buy a container that has enough different compartments for every piece that you own to have its own separate space. If you do this, you won’t have to worry about things becoming disorganized over time, and you’ll be able to keep your pieces straight.

Secure Your Jewelry

Many of the best jewelry boxes sold today come with locks on them as well, or small locked compartments. If you have specific pieces of jewelry that are valued at a high amount, it makes sense to lock them up to protect them against thieves. Do yourself a favor and get a locking box from a shop in Tennessee and make sure that you secure the most valuable pieces of jewelry so they remain safe over time.

A good quality jewelry box is an investment that’s worth the cost. It will keep all your pieces in good shape, help you organize your collection and likely help protect it from thieves as well. Just make sure that you go with a good quality unit and you’ll enjoy all those benefits and more. Contact us at Draper's Jewelry to find out what jewelry we can provide your box with.

Finding the Perfect Jewelry for That Special Occasion

One of the best gifts that you can make to your loved one on a special occasion is a nice piece of jewelry. Not only does this show that you care about them, and that you want to give them something special, but it’s a way for you to express yourself while proving that you know just what your loved one likes. Unfortunately most of us don’t know the type of jewelry that our loved ones like, or at least we don’t have an exact enough idea to go out and pick out the right piece. That’s why it’s important to do some research, to make sure you’re buying the right item when you go to a Nashville TN jewelry store.

Consider the Occasion

Different occasions demand different types of jewelry as a gift. An engagement traditionally comes with a diamond ring, the start of dating often comes with a promise ring, and earrings or a necklace are common gifts for events like Valentine’s day and anniversaries. Consider the special event and what’s traditionally given during that time, and try to come up with the most appropriate type of jewelry to give to your sweetheart.

Ask Her Opinion

There’s no better way to find out which types of jewelry your loved one likes than to sit down and talk with her about what she likes. Get her opinion on earrings, ask about necklaces, about bracelets about rings and anything else that you can think of. Do yourself a favor and write all this information down so you have it available for use later on. You’ll be relieved to have it when you head to the local jewelry store in Nashville TN when you actually intend to make a purchase. Just make sure that you ask for these details well in advance of when you plan to make a purchase if you want to keep it a surprise.

Bring Her to the Store

While it’s easy enough to ask her opinion about jewelry at home, it’s even easier to head to an actual Nashville jewelry store and have her point out pieces that she likes. Don’t just nod and smile when she shows you, take pictures of them with your smartphone and keep them safe so you have the information for use later on. You’ll be glad that you took the extra effort, and it will help you make the best possible decision overall.

Work with Professionals

Now that you’ve done all the necessary research, and you feel pretty confident about the style that your loved one likes, it’s time to head to a local jewelry store and work with the professionals. You can relay all your gathered information to them and then together you can work out the very best gift to give to your loved one.

Buying jewelry is a time-consuming process when you want to gift just the right piece, but it’s worth the time and effort involved when you see the smile on her face proving that you picked just the right piece. Check out what Draper's Jewelry has to offer you when it comes to the most beautiful jewelry.

How to Care for Platinum Jewelry

Today many people are opting for platinum bands on wedding rings over the more standard gold or silver. Not only is it a truly impressive looking metal, but it’s also very durable and will last several lifetimes if cared for properly. Here’s a quick guide on how to keep your rings, earrings, necklaces and other platinum pieces looking like new. Read it completely and follow the steps on a regular basis to ensure that every set of jewelry you own stays in pristine condition.

Wash Away Impurities

Submerge the pieces into a mixture of mild soap and water, or a specialized jewelry cleaner and gently wipe using a lint-free cloth to remove any impurities on the jewelry. This is excellent for getting rid of oils and other stains that develop over time.

Gently Scrub

Take a soft-bristled toothbrush and slowly go over all sections of the jewelry to remove anything that’s still stuck on after the initial washing. Don’t hurry through this process, and be sure to use very gentle pressure to avoid doing any damage to the jewelry.

Rinse it Off

Now that the pieces are nice and clean, it’s time to rinse away any of the soap using warm running water. Be careful to keep your jewelry away from sink drains, and consider putting in a basket or other protective drain stopper to avoid losing your precious pieces.

Dry and Store

Finally finish cleaning your rings, necklaces, earrings and other pieces by wiping them down with a lint-free cloth. Wipe them gently and then store them in a protective box section, or a jewelry bag alone to avoid any scratching. Ensure that every piece is individually wrapped or separated, so that you don’t have them rubbing on one another.

Platinum is a beautiful metal that holds up really well over time, but relying on these techniques will ensure that it continues to look its best over the years. It only takes a few minutes to wash up your jewelry, and if you are careful to maintain it, you shouldn’t have any problems in the future.

If you want to find your next beautiful piece of jewelry, or if you'd like to have some more pointers on how to get other jewelry clean, give us a call here at Draper's Jewelry.

Helpful Jewelry Style Tips

Jewelry is so important for style and fashion, and it’s a way that you can build a unique look for yourself without changing your whole wardrobe. Swapping out a piece of jewelry here and there can completely transform your look, and the right accent can make your favorite body part more prominent as well. The following tips will help you maximize your jewelry use, so that you get the best results from any pieces you add to your collection.

Add a Few Classic Pieces to Your Collection

While modern jewelry looks nice and can certainly be the centerpiece of your look, it shouldn’t be all that you have in your collection. Instead, you should also throw in a few classic pieces that you can always rely on. Classic jewelry relies on pearls, stones and more neutral colors. It goes well with most looks, and you can often pair classic jewelry with more modern pieces to good effect.

Choose Modern Jewelry Sparingly

When you shop for Jewelry in Tennessee, be sure that you don’t buy an excessive amount of stylish jewelry that’s being worn currently. That’s because it likely won’t stay in style forever, and eventually you’ll be stuck with a bunch of jewelry that nobody wants to wear. It’s best to shop sparingly when adding modern pieces to your collection.

Accent Your Body with Jewelry

Jewelry is great for drawing attention to a specific area of your body, so be sure that it’s drawing attention to your best attributes. Whether you have particularly nice ears, hands, hips, or arms, you can draw attention to those areas using jewelry. To make the biggest impression, wear the most dramatic pieces near the area you want accented most, and use small classic pieces anywhere else.

Infuse Some Color into Your Look

Color is a great thing and something that you should look for in some pieces of jewelry when building up your collection. While shopping for jewelry in Franklin Tennessee, look out for colorful items that will go well with existing looks that you enjoy. Just be careful not to overdo it. While a single piece of colorful jewelry can add depth to your look, multiple colorful pieces can actually make your look messy and take away from it.

Keep these general tips in mind each time that you shop for new pieces of jewelry, and you’ll build a look that you’re proud to show off. You can also ask us here at Draper's Jewelry. We can help you choose a stylish piece that stands out and gets the attention it deserves.

Rings and Things

Choosing the look of jewelry that is perfect for the person is one thing, but what type of jewelry should you get them? You have rings, bracelets, necklaces and other things to choose from. Rings are more personal, while earrings are a bit less so. Necklaces and bracelets are the in between choices when purchasing someone something jewelry related. Depending on the message that you want to send, you can choose from these options.

What Look is Best?

There are a few different choices of looks you can go with. Simple and chic are looks that are currently trending. If you want to go with something large and flashy, that is always an option. However, a lot of people enjoy the antique, older look that comes from some types of jewelry. You choose which one is going to work with the person you’re buying for, depending on their jewelry tastes.

Usually when you see a piece of jewelry, it will speak to you and let you know that this is the perfect piece for the person that you’re purchasing it for. Four Pieces of Jewelry Every Woman Should Own

Jewelry is a unique way for women to show off their style and what they really value in terms of appearance, but figuring out which pieces of jewelry to start with can be difficult if you don’t currently have many quality pieces at home. Here’s an overview of the four most versatile pieces of jewelry, and items that every woman should consider adding to her jewelry box at home.

Stud Earring

There are few pieces of jewelry more important than the stud earring. This one little delicate accent is enough to pull any look together and give you a bit more polish overall. Stud earrings can be worn every day, and a nice pair of diamond or sapphire earrings is all it takes to enhance your look. They should be a staple in every fashion-conscious woman’s wardrobe and something that you wear often around Nashville, Tennessee to work, to night clubs, out with friends or doing just about anything else.

Tennis Bracelet

A tennis bracelet, or a thin and often gemmed or jeweled bracelet is a good standard jewelry option that can be worn daily. It creates an elegant look and helps dress up your appearance without being over the top. Pick out a bracelet that matches your style, and go with something you’ll feel comfortable wearing with most outfits that you own.

Hoop Earring

The hoop earring isn’t something that you’ll wear on a daily basis and isn’t quite as versatile as the stud, but when chosen properly a hoop earring is a good accent to most upscale outfits. It’s a standout accessory that will draw attention to your head more, but it’s also something that is relatively casual, so you can wear them to the club, to work and on most everyday outings in Nashville, Tennessee without looking out of place at all.

Long Necklace

Long necklaces were popular back in the 1920’s and were replaced by short pendants for years. Now that look is back again and adding a beautiful long necklace to your collection is an excellent way to add a bit of style and elegance to your look. If you own pendants already, it’s also possible to layer both necklaces and pendants together for a more complex look.

With these four pieces, you’ll always have a good solid accent to that outfit you’re putting together. They are simple to wear and work for most occasions. Ask us here at Draper Jewelry about how we can help you choose these four pieces wisely.

The Hows and Whys of Resizing a Ring

There are times when resizing a ring is necessary. Whether you gain a bit of weight, lose some weight, want to switch your ring to another finger, or you picked up a ring from a friend and you want to get it to fit properly, there are a couple ways that your ring band can be adjusted to fit you properly. If you decide that you need this service make sure that you consult with a professional to find out what your options are, and to get your finger sized properly so that you enjoy the very best fit possible.

How It’s Done

When you need your ring resized, there are a few different methods employed to adjust the size up or down. When you want to move down slightly, the ring is cut, a small portion of it is removed, and then it is soldered back together again. When you want to move up to a larger size, there are two different methods available to you. The first is stretching, and works up to a half size. A special machine stretches out the metal of your ring to the new size. This is generally more affordable, and faster, but will only work if your requirements are very minor.
If you need  the ring to go up a size or more, it will have to be cut and expanded. In this process, the ring is cut and the two sections are separated a bit. Then additional metal is inserted into the band and soldered into place to create the finished piece.

Certain Metals Won’t Work

If your ring is made from certain metals, it simply cannot be resized. This is important to know before you waste the time traveling to your local jeweler to have it assessed. Stainless steel, titanium and tungsten are the three metals that generally can’t be resized. If your band is made from any of these metals, you’ll have to get a new band entirely, or pick up a new ring to get the size that you need.

Consult a Jeweler

Always consult a qualified jeweler before you decide on whether to resize your ring or not. Make sure that you know the proper size for your finger, and find out what your options are and how much it will cost you to make the transition. There are some ring types that can’t be resized, though most can, so you have to keep this in mind as well.

Two Size Limit

Generally your rings can only be modified by two sizes in either direction. That means if your ring is currently a size 6, you can bump it up to a size 8 or drop it down to a 4. If you need to go farther than that in either direction, you will probably have to purchase another ring instead.
Speak with us here at Draper's Jewelry and we can ensure that your ring is resized to perfect, as well as pointing you in the direction of one of our finer options if you're looking to upgrade.

Choosing the Right Color Engagement Ring Band

Img: www.Pexels.com

So you’ve taken the time to figure out exactly which diamond is the best for your loved one, and you’re just about ready to buy it from the store and to head home, when you’re given a whole new question to consider. What type of band do you put it on? This is simple when your lady has a preference that you have to stick with, or when the stone only comes on a particular type of band, but when the option isn’t made for you it can be quite difficult making it on your own.
Fortunately there’s an easy way to make that decision. That’s to choose the band color that’s going to look best on her, and you can absolutely do that. Just choose a ring band based on the tone of her skin, and you’ll be confident that it will look exceptional on her after you pop the question and she starts sobbing from sheer joy.

Is She Warm or Cool?

No, I’m not talking about her temperament. What I mean by warm or cool is her skin tone. Some women have a cool skin tone, while others have what is known as a warm tone. There is a simple test that you can do to figure out which is the best way to describe your bride-to-be. Take a look at her arms and pay close attention to the color of her veins.
If her veins look blue, she has a cool skin tone. If her veins look green, then she has a warm skin tone. Deciding which category she falls in is as simple as that, and once you do that you’ll have a better idea of which ring band metals to choose.

Warm Bands

Women with a warm skin tone generally look better with a traditional gold band. If you’re having a tough time deciding on the right band type, gold is probably going to be the best option, but that doesn’t mean that’s what you have to go with. A white gold or rose gold can also work out, they just generally won’t be quite as good of a compliment overall.

Cool Bands

For cool skin tones it makes sense to pick up rose gold or white gold in most instances. These two colors tend to compliment cool tones the best of all. Go with the band type that she prefers out of the two and you’re sure to come to a stunning end-result.

Extreme Skin Tones

Women with very dark skin, or really pale skin look lovely in a rose gold engagement band no matter whether they have a warm or cool tone. That’s important to keep in mind if you have a lady at home that has a warm skin tone but sits at either end of the spectrum for color. If so, she will really be complimented nicely by the rose gold band, because the color will stand out.

Draper's Jewelry has many options available for you to choose from. Additionally, our jewelry experts can ensure that she is happy with whatever band you pick out. Contact us today for additional information.

Finding the Proper Engagement Ring in Nashville Tennessee

Getting engaged is exciting and scary all at the same time. It’s a process that you don’t want to rush into, but when you know you are ready you still have to worry about getting the diamond ring right, and let’s face it, most women want a diamond ring. Take your time when picking out a ring, and follow along with these steps to help you find the very best ring option for your loved one right there in Nashville Tennessee.

Measuring the Finger

One of the most important steps of finding a high quality engagement ring is to take measurements of the finger that the ring is going to go on. Make sure that you take accurate measurements of the exact finger, or have a jewelry store in Nashville take care of sizing her finger instead.

Determine her Style

Coming up with a surprise engagement ring is risky, and it’s much better to take the time to figure out what her style is before you start shopping. To do this you should bring your girlfriend with you to the jewelry store and have her look at all the different rings. Just ignore any of the staff members trying to convince you to make a purchase right then and there.
Pay close attention to the rings that she likes the best, and snap photos of them with your smartphone while you are there. That’s the quickest and easiest way to find rings that your loved one is going to fall in love with.

Choose a Metal

Most engagement rings can be found on gold, silver and platinum bands. Even after you figure out the cut and size of the diamond that she wants, you still need to decide on a band. Have her tell you which is her favorite and make a note of it as well. Also consider having her try a few rings on if at all possible, to see how the different band colors look with her complexion.

Finding the perfect engagement ring isn’t an easy task, but it’s something that you can accomplish quickly in Nashville Tennessee as long as you’re willing to spend a day out of the house looking at jewelry stores. Even if you want the ring to be a surprise, you should do yourself a favor and make sure to get her input anyway. This input will help you make a good decision when you buy the secret ring later on. Speak with our engagement jewelry specialists here at Draper's Jewelry to have more insight on choosing the perfect ring for that special occasion.

How to Care for Your Gold Jewelry

Most people collect at least a few pieces of gold jewelry over time, and many make the mistake of treating them like any other type of jewelry that they own. This can be a real problem, because gold isn’t like many of the other metals that are available. It’s very soft, and must be cared for properly to make sure that it remains in good shape over time.

Remove Your Jewelry Often

Remember to take that gold necklace or ring off before every shower or bath that you take. Also remove it before you’ll be doing hard labor or before you do anything with cleaning solutions. That’s because any chemical contact can dull the gold and force it to be cleaned more often, which only speeds up wear and tear. You need to be careful about wearing it while doing manual labor because gold is very soft and will scratch easily. You also can’t wear it into a swimming pool, because chlorine can discolor gold permanently.

Buff Your Gold

Once your piece of gold begins to lose its shine the first thing you should do is rub it with a chamois cloth. This is often all you need to do to bring that shine back once again, and it’s much easier on the piece than a harsh cleaning would be.

Wash Your Gold

About once a month, or once every few months you should wash off your gold jewelry to keep it in good shape. Put a few drops of mild dish soap into a bowl of warm water. Now add one piece at a time into the bowl and let them each sit for a minute. Remove them and wipe them off with a soft cloth. Any tough spots that didn’t come off during this gentle cleaning can be wiped away using a child’s soft-bristled toothbrush in a gentle stroke pattern. Make sure that you rinse the gold under clean water for a few moments to remove any traces of soap from its surface.

Store with Care

Finally, you have to be careful how you store the jewelry. Store each piece in a cloth-lined box section, or into a soft pouch to help avoid issues with scratching.

Gold is a delicate metal that requires special care. Take your time with it and treat it very nicely and you’ll get many years of service out of that beautiful jewelry. For additional tips and tricks to keeping all of your jewelry in the best condition possible, speak with us here at Draper's Jewelry. We have many fine pieces, and care instructions that come with them.

How to Effectively Clean Silver

Whether you have silver rings, necklaces, lockets or genuine silverware, it’s important to know how to properly maintain and clean your jewelry. That’s why we’ve put together a quick guide on taking care of your silver and cleaning it up to keep it looking fresh and new. Follow along with these tips and steps and you’ll have clean and shiny silver that you can be proud of.

Hand Wash with Soap and Water

One of the most basic ways to keep your silver in good shape is to hand wash it with soap and water on a regular basis. If you take the time to wash away any dirt and grime that’s accumulated on your silver jewelry at least once a week, you shouldn’t have to worry about tarnish and other issues as much. Be sure to use a gentle cloth along with a mild soap solution to wash the silver. Then rinse it and dry it completely. Wash in straight lines and never use an abrasive material such as a rough sponge that could cause scratching.

Apply a Silver Polish to Remove Tarnish

Tarnish is the natural corrosion that occurs on silver over time. When your pieces begin to look darker and more worn it’s time to polish them up and remove that tarnish. Rub a high quality silver polish over the item using a cellulose sponge. Be sure to rub in straight lines, not circles and don’t scrub very hard. After a minute or two of moderate polishing let the polish sit for a few minutes and then rinse with running water. Dry the item off with a soft lint-free cloth.

Store it Carefully

Silver isn’t as soft as gold, but it is still prone to scratching and could easily be damaged if you aren’t careful. That’s why you should store all your silver pieces away from one another. Use a necklace holder to keep necklaces open and protected from rubbing. You can also individually wrap your jewelry pieces in a soft cloth to prevent rubbing if you will be putting several items in the same section of a storage container.

Silver is a beautiful metal, but it’s also prone to scratching and tarnish if it isn’t cared for properly. Be careful to wash and polish it regularly and store it away properly and you shouldn’t have any issues with your favorite jewelry pieces.

The Right Diamond Jewelry Can Say it All: Here’s How to Choose

Choosing diamond jewelry can be a daunting task when it comes to purchasing it for someone else. You want to go with something that they’re going to like, but you also want to ensure that it is a diamond that is going to last forever. With the proper care, as well as the highest quality diamond from a reputable seller; this should not be a hard task to go about. However, when you go with a seller that is known for their low quality diamonds, without actually thinking about who they are; this is where you’re going to run into many problems.

Choosing the Right Jewelry

Consider the person that you’re going to be purchasing the diamond jewelry for. You do not want to go with something too big, or too small for the person; depending on what it is that they like. You want something that they feel the most comfortable wearing.

Another consideration to make is what type of diamond jewelry you want to purchase. She might not like to wear bracelets, so a necklace or ring might be better suited for her. This is a big consideration to make when purchasing the right type of jewelry for the occasion. You need to go with something that fits her perfectly, but that she is actually going to wear.

Another great consideration to make is whether or not she is going to want to wear something that is colorful, or more classical. With many colored diamonds, you can choose which one is going to work the best for you and for her. Diamonds come in many different color choices, so you can fit it on the band while also making it a part of her outfit at the same time.

When it comes time to choose the right diamond jewelry for the occasion, make sure to speak with us here at Draper’s Jewelry. Not only can we provide you with insight on which diamonds to go with, but we are also a high quality, reputable seller of this fine jewelry, making you feel more comfortable and confident about the choice that you make.

Do Different Stones and Metals Need Different Care?

When it comes to the stones and metals that you’re wearing, you might want to consider whether or not they need different care from one another. The logical solution to this would be to read any cleaning or care instructions that might have come with the jewelry. However, if you have none then here are some common rules to follow for the care of metals and fine jewels that you’re wearing.

Proper Care for Jewelry

Here are some tips that you can use for all of the jewelry that you own and not just all of it, since they're common for every type of jewelry out there.

  • Never leave your jewelry in extreme heat or cold weather and absolutely keep it out of the sun
  • Do not use lotions, sunscreens or other liquids on jewelry since this can break them down with time due to the oils
  • Clean your jewelry using a mild jewelry cleaner every week to keep it in the best shape possible
  • Never wear the jewelry when doing heavy work
  • Keep jewelry out of lakes, swimming pools, baths and showers
  • Do not wear rings if your hands are swollen, since they may need to be cut off if they’re not able to come off any other way
  • Always store your jewelry in a safe place, preferably with a soft cushion to prevent scratching
  • Always read the directions for care when purchasing your jewelry and stick to the care instructions provided, depending on the type of jewelry it is, some of the instructions are important to the well-being of the piece
As far as different stones and metals are concerned, some of them do need different care than others. However, this is provided on the care instructions for that specific piece that is purchased. This is why it is important to read all of the paperwork that comes with the jewelry that you purchase, especially if it is an expensive piece.

If you’re confused on what to do specifically for the jewelry that you have or you’re just looking to add a new piece to your collection, Draper’s Jewelry can help. With a lot of different pieces to choose from and a lot of jewelry knowledge, they are the go-to place for those that would like something beautiful for an affordable price, at the highest quality that jewelry is able to come in. How to Protect Your Diamond Jewelry in the Summer

Protection for some of the most beautiful pieces that you own is essential. You need to ensure that you have the proper coverage when it is needed the most. If you find yourself having a hard time covering up your jewelry or keeping it in the best possible condition then these tips for diamond jewelry and summer time can come in handy.

Protect Your Diamond Jewelry Using These Tips:

  • Keep your diamonds and other jewelry out of the direct sunlight and heat. Heat can cause damage to the metals and the diamond if it is left for long periods of time.
  • Regularly clean the jewelry, since small particles and debris can cause the diamond and metals to wear down with time. This causes damage to the jewelry and can cause it to lose it’s luster and shine.
  • Never get lotions, oils or sunscreen or other oily substances on the rings. This can cause the ring to break down over time if it is not completely washed off and removed from the outside of the ring. It is best to keep the rings away from these lotions and oils, since some have harsh chemicals in them not suited for jewelry.
  • Never swim with your jewelry on, since the chlorine and other chemicals found inside pools can break down the metals and diamonds of the jewelry causing further issues. The same could go for lakes and other natural bodies of water that might have particles in them that can be harmful to precious metals or stones.
  • Whenever possible, take your jewelry off before heading out for a fun day in the sun. Whether you’re going to be swimming or not, or if you’re going to be sitting in the sun. You want to protect your beautiful investment and keeping it at home in a temperature controlled space is the most ideal way to go about doing so.

For further information regarding your diamond jewelry, or just to choose some of the most beautiful pieces out there, speak with Draper’s Jewelry. They’re able to provide you with a large selection to choose from with many beautiful pieces. Pairing earrings, rings and necklaces together that have the same sort of flow is recommended. Always check into the types of diamonds that are made for dressing up before heading out. Through the use of Draper’s Jewelry ‘design your own setting’ option, you can create a completely customized ring setting for diamonds of your choice. This allows you to get many benefits, but also feel more confident about providing someone you love with the ring. This is due to the fact that you put a lot of thought and consideration into what you wanted to make for them, not just something you chose really quick off of the shelves.

Diamond Setting Options

There are many options you can go with depending on what you might think that she’d like in a ring. Choosing something that fits her is essential, but being able to put the diamonds together so they look their best is also something that should be considered.

Smaller diamonds that surround a larger one tend to be the most popular choice. Whether you go with just two or four smaller diamonds around the band, with the larger one in the middle or going with a mostly full band of smaller diamonds with a larger middle setting; she is sure to love this classic design.

Of course, even with this design, you have to choose the quality of the diamonds, as well as the size of the diamonds. You can use the online simulator to provide yourself with an idea of how each one might look and customize it to a way that really shines bright.

Single diamond settings are also another classic option that many people choose to go with. This allows the person to use a larger middle diamond, since they’re not adding the smaller ones around it. It also provides you with a way to make a larger diamond in a different shape appear more beautiful and stand out much more than it normally would with the additional diamonds around it.

When you’re ready to design your own diamond setting for a special occasion, speak with us here at Draper’s Jewelry. We provide you with multiple options and many high quality diamonds to choose from. We take pride in the jewelry that we make, you should too. Diamond or Teardrop Shaped Diamonds

The girl that loves antiques and all things historic might like these shapes. Not only do they provide something different than the normal shapes, but they have a bit of history behind them. They are not your ordinary diamond, and as such, you shouldn’t give them to an ordinary girl.

Larger Square or Princess Cut Diamonds

These diamonds tend to go with the materialistic girl that wants it all. It is big, out there, shines bright and is easy to show off without actually showing it off. It is the ring that she will say yes too, if you’re proposing to her or it can be the ideal birthday present when the diamonds are on a necklace or as earrings.

The Vintage Jewelry Market is on the Rise

When it comes to vintage, you want something that is going to stand out, but also be different from the rest of the jewelry that is being made on the market. Currently, many jewelry makers are looking into changing up the way they create, market and show off their jewelry. They want to give it this one-of-a-kind, older twist that is sweeping the nation. It has become one of the biggest fashions in the jewelry industry, and can provide you with a beautiful piece to give.

Vintage Jewelry is Beautiful

Many people might think about vintage jewelry and consider it to be these old pieces of junk that you would find hiding in your great grandmothers closet. However, this is not the case when it comes to freshly made jewelry. With a more custom, personalized approach, the jeweler is able to make a piece of fine jewelry crafted for the specific person, but with that twist of vintage added into it.

Vintage jewelry provides a hint of the past inside them, and come in many different metal colors that you’re not able to get from more modern pieces. This is something that you can consider when thinking about being different from the rest of the people that are choosing different types of jewelry to put on. You can wear something ideal, that fits with your personality and your wants and needs.

Vintage Jewelry is Ideal for Gifts

When considering a piece of jewelry to get for her, you have to go with something that is going to surprise her, but show that you put some thought into it. Vintage jewelry can provide this, when nothing else can which is something you’re not able to get from more modern pieces, since all of her friends might have the same pieces. Go with something that delights, but is also different and shows off her personality when the time comes. Vintage jewelry can be the most ideal way to show her you care, you’re thinking of her and that you love her.

Choosing a Ring for Him That Makes a Statement

Choosing a ring for her is something that might seem somewhat easy to do. This is because you know what she wants, what would look good on her and of course, what she told you she loved. Choosing her ring is not the issue. However, choosing a ring that he is going to love and want to wear is a whole different story. You need to consider what type of guy he is, what he is into and what might make him look good when he's wearing it proudly.

Titanium

Titanium is an ideal choice of material for a man to wear. Not only does it come in many different colors and shades, but it is thicker and more resistant to usage, unlike other types of materials such as gold and silvers. Men that work with their hands a lot, and do a lot of construction or other type of work should not wear something that is in the soft metal category. Some jobs require that the ring is taken of in order to perform the jobs safely.

Diamonds

Diamonds are generally not thought of when it comes to purchasing rings for men, but they can be a beautiful addition to an otherwise plain ring. Many of the rings that come in sets to match the woman’s rings also have diamond in them to go along nicely with one another.

Designs

Designs that are placed on the rings provide a beautiful appearance. Not only can they be engraved to mean something specifically to the man that is going to be wearing the ring, but they can also have designs to match the woman’s ring, or even cool designs that he likes. This gives the ring more meaning and beauty.

Of course, consider the right size that goes along with the style. The materials, style and extras that you choose all depend on what you might think he is going to like, but also what might look good on him, as well. If you’re still unsure of what to grab him for a ring, make sure to check out the options and find out with him what might be the best to go with.

To Go with Antique Options or Modern Jewelry Beauty?

When choosing a piece of jewelry for someone that you love, or perhaps just someone close to you; knowing what they're into is key. However, when you do not have much to go off of, and you’re still not sure what they’d like, you can go with either an antique or modern jewelry option. Here are pros and cons to each, and some ideas on whether or not the special someone will love either one.

Antique Jewelry Options

Antique jewelry is a favorite by many people, but sometimes it might not be the best way to go for some. When choosing to go with an antique diamond and setting then you should consider some of these facts about antique jewelry and choosing it for your purpose.

  • The settings tend to be more tarnished to give off the antique feeling, and less shiny. If she is one that loves shiny things, then modern might be the way to go.
  • Antique options provide more history, value and meaning in them. This can be ideal when wanting to give a ring that has been in the world for some time, and tells a story.
  • Antique diamond cuts are less perfect and brilliant than more modern diamond cuts. They can be flawed, worn down but still provide beauty to the ring.

Modern Jewelry Pieces

Modern jewelry pieces can be ideal when you are purchasing the piece for someone that loves large, beautiful, shiny and bright pieces. Not only are they able to be customized to her liking, but you can choose something that is just hers, and has only been hers.

  • Modern pieces are always cut to perfection, have brilliant settings you can choose from, while also allowing you to choose the diamond cut, size, clarity and other factors.
  • They provide a more updated feel to them, with shiny settings and large diamonds, if that is what she is into.
  • They are more bright, and come in various sizes, unlike antique rings which usually come in either very large, or small.

When you’re considering which piece to go with, speak with us here at Draper’s Jewelry. We are able to pick out some of the finest pieces that we offer, and even walk you through some customizable options. She is sure to love whatever you pick out, since you were the one picking it out. Tips for Keeping Your Jewelry Safe at Home

Your jewelry might be valuable either emotionally or financially, and you need to know how to keep the jewelry safe at home, or even while on the go. Using these tips, you can ensure that all of your jewelry is well kept, away from prying eyes and of course, safe wherever you go. Those fine jewels shouldn’t be out in the open, so keep the jewelry safe and sound easily, and effectively.

Tips for Jewelry Safe Keeping

Storing your jewelry should not be hard to do, but with these fail safe techniques, not only can you have jewelry safe and sound, but you can also have them looking their best so there are no issues later on down the road.

Use a Jewelry Box That is Sturdy

When you find a jewelry box, choose one with a tough exterior and a soft interior. You want something that is going to cradle the jewelry when they are inside. You also can choose a box that comes with a key to make things even safer.

Clean the Jewelry

When you’re keeping jewelry safe, you also have to consider cleanliness, so they last longer. After each use, clean them, and store them. You want to use a high quality jewelry cleaner, that you can purchase from the jewelers.

Take Care When Storing Pearls

Pearls are soft, and can damage easily when scraped against something. Choose a pocket inside the jewelry box that is going to keep this jewelry safe, and non-scratched. This can be an extra soft compartment, or even adding a pad for additional safety.

Organize the Jewelry by Type

When you organize the jewelry by type, you’re allowing yourself easy access to what it is that you need, each and every time you go into the box. This can not only keep everything tucked neatly away inside, but you can also find that it keeps the items safer from scratching and bumping into each other.

Always Store Jewelry in a Dry, Cool Area

Jewelry should never be stored in excessive heat areas. Keep them out of the sun, and always make sure the area is dry, with limited moisture. If you’re hiding the box to keep the jewelry safe, then consider placing it in an area that is out of the sun, and away from any moisture.

For additional jewelry safe tips and tricks, speak with us here at Draper’s Jewelry. We have a fine selection of diamonds, and other pieces that are brilliantly designed, with you in mind. Choose something to take home today.
