Soulmates

You grew up in the same small town in rural Tennessee.  Your Dad was the town dentist and both her parents worked at a manufacturing plant just outside of town.  Growing up, you went to the same elementary school and your Dad cleaned her teeth while your Mom lead the choir at Church and taught her to sing.  Even as a child you noticed her from the pews, the beautiful girl who always wore scarves from around the world.  But she was three years older, so your paths rarely crossed.  You should have been two ships passing in the night.

In high school, a fire forced your family of six away from the little town in which you were born, to a neighboring city.  You attended the private high school while she graduated from your public school rival and went away to a state college.

It was at a Christmas party, after your sophomore year at university when you saw her again.  She was at a party at one of your friend’s houses and had a wrap in her hair… a scarf.  A high school buddy told you to buzz off because she was dating your childhood friend, but you knew they were no good for each other so you swept in.

You were spellbound with where she’d been.  She studied French in college and had spent the last few years in Paris, then French Africa, and Asia.  You simply had to know more.  By the end of the night, her old boyfriend had left her in tears with a new girl and you took her out for a milkshake to cheer her up.  You would have died for a kiss, but you knew the timing wasn’t right, so you settled for conversation and told her to keep in touch.  She called you the day you got back to school.

The next few years you did long distance, back and forth between the small town you’d grown up in, where she took a teaching position, and your university.  After you finished, you moved back home to be with her.

Now you’re thinking about how to pop the question with a one of a kind engagement ring, you look no further than Draper’s Jewelry, the classic Nashville jeweler.

The Perfect Ring for the Perfect Girl

You’ve been dating since high school.  She was a senior, president of the drama club, when you were a junior: an older woman (…at least that’s what your friends joked when you told them you first had a crush).  It was after a production of Much Ado About Nothing, you were playing Benedict and she was Beatrice, when she pulled you aside backstage for what you assumed was help finding a prop.  Before you knew it, she had swung you around the curtain and kissed you.

An intense and fearless young romance followed.  Late night “study sessions” at each other’s houses, camping trips with each other’s respective friend groups, and secret weekend getaways to the farthest point either of you could drive without your parents getting suspicious of the mileage on your odometer (yes, they were snoopy, but it was because they cared).

You went to prom, and shortly thereafter decided to break up because she was going to the East Coast for college and you wanted to make sure she had the opportunity to experience university independently, without worrying about you back home.

A year later you were at a neighboring college just a train ride away.  Another year passed without much contact.  Then, with her in her junior year of college and you in your sophomore year, you decided to take a trip up to her visit for the weekend.

It was apparent from the moment you saw each other that the feelings you had, had were not “had feelings” at all, but something both of you were still very much “having.”  Friday she broke up with her college boyfriend (not one of the relationship’s finer moments) and by Sunday you got back together.

When she finished school, she moved down to the city and into an apartment you had rented so she wouldn’t have to live in your college dorm.  A year later you both moved back to Tennessee, where you grew up, to start the next chapter of your lives together.

When you knew it was time to pop the question, you went online to find a classic jewelry story for rings that were custom made for your one of a kind gal.  And you happened upon Draper’s Jewelry of Nashville, TN.  Draper’s Jewelry has a number of custom wedding bands, as well as bands from major jewelry makers.  Open since 1944, our family owned and operated business will help you find the perfect piece for that special someone with whom you were always meant to be.
